Homemade Pasta Made Simple | Cookbook Review

One of my favorite bloggers, Manuela of Manu's Menu, has written a new cookbook, Homemade Pasta Made Simple: A Pasta Cookbook with Easy Recipes & Lessons to Make Fresh Pasta Any Night.

The cookbook has 65 pasta recipes, 30 sauce recipes, and is super beginner-friendly.

The book begins with a description of the ingredients and equipment you will need to begin making your own pasta. It is divided into the following sections:
  • Hand shaped pasta
  • Ribbon-cut pasta
  • Stuffed pasta
  • Gnocchi and gnudi
  • Sauce recipes to mix and match with the various pastas
While she lives in Australia, Manuela was born and brought up in Milan, Italy, and talks about her memories of her family making pasta together on the weekends. She decided to write this book to show people how easy and fun it is to make fresh pasta from scratch.

The photos at the beginning of each chapter are gorgeous, and there are drawn illustrations to help you produce pasta at home.

I have a crank handle pasta maker that I actually purchased to make grissini, with the idea that I might make pasta "someday." I'm so excited to be able to finally use it for its intended purpose.

Here are a few sample recipes from the book:
I received a PDF draft copy of the book for my honest review. After reading through the electronic copy, I purchased a print copy of the book

I cannot wait to try the smoked salmon and ricotta mezzelune, among many others.
