Kürtőskalács, also known as chimney cakes, are a fun treat to make. They are delicious straight from the oven.
The dough for these Kürtőskalács is pretty easy to make, and super easy to handle. It's an enriched yeasted dough, with milk, butter, and an egg, and it comes together very quickly.

Kozunak (Bulgarian Easter Bread)
Kozunak is a slightly sweet enriched celebration bread often served Easter morning in Bulgaria.
Kozunak is similar to many celebration breads of Europe, especially eastern Europe, and is enriched with eggs, oil, and sugar. It reminds me of brioche, pandoro, or Pane di Pasqua, except that it calls for oil rather than butter.

No Knead Herb Bread
This no knead herb bread is a delicious way to use up leftover herbs that might be languishing in your veggie bin.
This herb bread is super easy to make, and you can use any herbs you have on hand. All you need is some flour, salt, water, and a teeny tiny bit of yeast. Throw in a mixture of herbs, mix everything up by hand, and walk away for 12 to 18 hours.

The Cuban Sandwich (The Cubano)
This Cuban Sandwich Recipe reflects the delicious sandwich from Florida, the birthplace of the authentic Cubano.
Making a Cuban sandwich requires a few extra steps, including roasting your own pork, but it is totally worth it.
I even made my own Cuban bread, or Pan Cubano de Manteca!

Sourdough and Greek Yogurt Flatbread
This sourdough Greek yogurt flatbread is so easy to make, and is wonderful for using your sourdough starter discard.
You can make this flatbread whenever you are feeding your sourdough starter. Instead of throwing away excess starter, whip up a batch of these flatbreads. Serve them with your favorite soup or stew, or use them to wrap up your favorite sandwich fillings.

Fioretto Cauliflower Cheese Nuggets
These Fioretto Cauliflower Cheese Nuggets are a great way to get your veggies in a totally cheesy and tasty way.
These cauliflower cheese nuggets are made with fioretto, which is a hybrid of broccoli and cauliflower, and, when raw, look like flowers on long-ish green stems. They are sometimes called "flowering cauliflower." They are much more flavorful than standard cauliflower... kind of sweet, kind of nutty.

Empanadas de Picadillo
These empanadas de picadillo are made with puff pastry wrapped around a mixture of seasoned ground beef and potatoes.
These empanadas are baked, not fried, and are wonderful fresh from the oven or reheated later in the toaster oven. While they may not win a beauty contest, these were pretty much one of the most popular dishes from my kitchen.
