Double Chocolate Baked Donuts

For a lighter version of cake donuts, try these Double Chocolate Baked Donuts! These donuts are so easy to make, and you don't have to deep fry them. Just bake them in your donut pan.

Double Chocolate Baked Donuts

The batter for these baked donuts is so easy to put together. Once you've mixed it, you just pipe it into a donut pan and bake the donuts. They take just about 12 minutes to bake!

This recipe makes just 6 donuts too, so you won't have too much opportunity to have too many. I guarantee that these will be a big hit with your taste testers. My grandsons went crazy over them.

Ingredients you will need for these baked donuts:

All you need are flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder and baking soda, salt, plain yogurt or sour cream, an egg, vanilla, and melted butter.

For the double chocolate part, you add either chopped chocolate or mini chocolate chips to the batter, which will melt into the donuts, making them extra chocolatey.

For the glaze, just mix together powdered sugar with a little heavy cream. And, of course, add sprinkles!

If the batter rises up enough to close the donut "hole," you can cut it out with a knife. I actually just inserted an apple corer into the center.

  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the sour cream, egg, and vanilla.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and add the chopped chocolate or mini chips and melted butter.
